The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has announced the launch of a new initiative, Do More in Dubai, designed to further boost the domestic and inbound tourism in the Arabian Gulf’s trading and tourism hub during the summer months.

Mr. Eyad Ali Abdul Rahman, DTCM Executive Director of Business Development and Media Relations, told a Press Conference: “Our aim is to increase the tourist growth by 25-30 per cent through the attractive promotional programmes for both the nationals and expatriates in the UAE and overseas visitors.”

Present at the meeting was Mrs. Mariam Al Maeini, DTCM Director of Human Resources.

The initiative for overseas visitors has started from May 20 and runs until September 30, while the domestic visitors’ promotion will run from June 15 to September 30. The DTCM expects that the average occupancy rates will be more than 83 per cent during the period.

Mr. Abdul Rahman said the new initiative will increase the traffic growth in domestic tourism, which will contribute positively in the economic growth of the emirate, promote the main attractions and entertainment in Dubai, attract Emiratis and residents to spend a summer holiday in Dubai by providing a unique tourist experience and enhancing the occupancy levels of hotel establishments during the holy month of Ramadan through the special promotions.

Visitors coming to Dubai during June 15 to September 30 will receive discounts and experiences for the entire family. They can select from 77 hotels and hotel apartments and avail of free accommodation for 2 children below the age of 12 years.

At the Dubai Mall, they will get Discount Shopping Booklet to avail discounts of up to 70 per cent on diamond jewellery and free pearls, gold, silver on selected purchases along with complementary vouchers. Children under the age of 12 will enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner for free at the hotels they are booked into for their Dubai stay. Parents will receive from 20 per cent to 30 per cent discount on meals in selected restaurant in the hotels.
Emirates has been named the official airline for the promotion. Among the 25 attractions taking part in the promotion are: Leisure attractions and activities Dolphinarium, Big Bus, iFly Dubai at Playnation (Mirdif City Centre), Soccer Circus Dubai Training Academy at Playnation (Mirdif City Centre), Ski Dubai (Mall of the Emirates), Al Badia Golf Club, Dubai Mall: KidZania, SEGA Republic, Ice Rink, Aquarium, Underwater Zoo, Meydan (IMAX Theatre), Bateaux Dubai Dinner Cruise, Dubai Creek, Children City, The Autodrome at MotorCity Dubailand, Seawings, Els Club in Dubailand, Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Dubai Marina Yacht Club, The Address Montgomerie Dubai, Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, Atlantis Aqua Venture, Lost Chamber and Wild Wadi.
