
In our contemporary worldsituation where individuals, families, peoples and nations irrepressibly long for justice, no ideology except a divine one based on mercy can lead the humanity to the ultimate justice and peace.
That the common suicidal tendency evident among soldiers deployed in the Middle East, the biggest issue faced by the Pentagon which claims that it would implement justice throughout the world, is really thought provoking.
One veteran American military personnel in every 80 minutes commits suicide. This is for sure due to their failure in doing justice to their own consciences. According to WHO figures, 20 million people attempt suicide and 1 million of them die in a year.
With the shoot up in divorce and shattered families, violence and insurgencies flared up by social and political injustice on one hand, and the direct and indirect blistering broadside launched by the super powers, overtly or covertly, on the third world on the other, life is becoming more and more perilous by each passing day.
Islam stands distinguished in this area as having guaranteed the individual clear guidelines to act upon the lines of doing justice to his body as well as mind and leading a peaceful life amidst his family and society by discharging duties and relishing rights.
Islamic law shows mercy to the individual, family as well as society, and assures peace to all who abide by it. Islam teaches mankind to behave with his fellow human beings with mercy by creating a deep belief in a Creator, who always bestows mercy upon his creatures. It also inspires man to keep himself aloof from the evil deeds that make the life of fellow human beings hard, by warning bout punishment after death that withdraws the divine mercy. Islam is able to form healthy individual, healthy family and healthy society by implementing laws that consider biological, emotional and spiritual urges of human beings. The credit of the success of Islam in providing peace both in theory and practice goes to the fact that it is based on in justice and mercy.
